Health screening benefits
If we run industrial machinery or privately owned cars, we will from time to time book them in for a service or carry out the maintenance ourselves – so why don’t we do the same with our own bodies?
The complexity of our bodies is truly amazing and the way they are able to compensate makes them far better than any machine. But we still need to be aware of what our body is telling us and how to adjust to the warnings.
Even the fitness fanatics out there cannot see their blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels which, amongst other factors, are high risk factors in heart disease.
The biggest killer in the UK is Coronary Heart Disease (CHD); a report from the British Heart Foundation (BHF) published in 1998 reported 175,793 deaths from CHD.
Ten years later in 2008, the BHF reported deaths from CHD were down to 88,236.
This fall in deaths is a combination of greater public awareness and understanding of risk factors related to CHD. The BHF, along with the Government, have put policies in place encouraging and helping people to lead healthier lifestyles. This, coupled with improved treatment and better health education has prevented the onset of CHD.
At Workplace Health MOT, we believe prevention is better than cure, and it is our aim to bring health screening benefits to the public in general, in both the workplace and the community, at a cost that is affordable – but what price is your HEALTH?
Our aim is to carry out Health MOTs which look at CHD risks, and raise general awareness of male and female related cancers and illness, giving people the knowledge to make informed choices and to seek help at the earliest opportunity.

Health screening benefits include measuring aspects of the body’s functions, which also indicate and detect the onset of health problems.
